The geography we live in has developed an interesting way of thinking today. The people of this century, who develop instant comments on glimpsing snapshots, build great negligence as well. In such an age of great intellect, while experiencing the greatest foolishness, what the eye sees is often illusory. We are in an “eye-dream” that excludes the mind.
The series of clippings from newspapers are nothing but witnessing to the barbarism of the age. We are in such an age in which women and especially children are the vulnerable ones and mostly deformed by means of the mass media, politics and capitalist exploitation. No matter what story you dig deep into, there is always violence and destruction. Barbarism is everywhere… Just to spite ecological problems, we still stick to the familiar areas of consumption, and as for the unknown areas, we just carry on with the momentary forgetfulness. We are building upon a past civilization in a hasty, effortless and inelegant manner and we are living in a moment that is approaching the end. My field of painting is a testimony to those moments rather than being an image that is meant to be left for the next century. It is just a small contribution to another possible form of life in the universe.
